INTRODUCING OUR GELIYA COLLECTION: PURE SILVER (1000K) AND 22K GOLD HANDWOVEN UNIQUE PIECES OF JEWELRY
Our Geliya collection bracelets, necklaces and earrings can only be weaved by pure silver and 22k Gold strings that are 0.3 mm thick. The art of handcrafting a Geliya collection piece goes way back in the history. It is believed that Mesopotamia and Lydia civilizations bequeathed this skill to Turks. There are not many artisans left in Turkey who know how to create this type of hand woven jewelry. The weaver uses a crochet needle which is specially designed for weaving silver and gold strings. It takes from a day to couple days depending on the model and design to finish a bracelet or a necklace.
Wearing a pure silver Jewelry is not a common thing. Silver is a precious metal which is very hard to process when it is pure. That is why in every jewelry store in the world, there exists only sterling silver.
“Sterling silver is an alloy of silver containing 92.5% by mass of silver and 7.5% by mass of other metals, usually copper. The sterling silver standard has a minimum millesimal finesse of 925. Fine silver, for example 99.9% pure silver, is generally too soft for producing functional objects; therefore, the silver is usually alloyed with copper to give it strength while preserving the ductility and beauty of the precious metal.” (Wikipedia) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sterling_silver)
On the other hand, Geliya collection pieces can only be created by pure silver strings. To be able to bend, make knots and weave the artisan actually needs the silver to be as pure as it can be. For Gold pieces, the strings should be either 22k or 24k. Or else again it is not possible to process them.
We are confident that our selection of Geliya bracelets, necklaces and earrings will be loved by many people. Here are some of the popular models…
